Wharfedale's latest innovative tower speaker
Wharfedale's new AURA series borrows some great tech from their flagship Elysian series. The AURA 3 is the line's slimmest, most compact tower speaker. This beautiful floor-stander dishes out rich, articulate sound thanks to its advanced driver and crossover design. You can use a pair of AURA 3s as the front left and right speakers in your AURA home theater system, or as the focus of your two-channel music system.

Advanced drivers for fantastic imaging and soundstaging
The AURA 3 uses a three-way driver design for lifelike sound and pinpoint imaging. Its distinctive tweeter uses a folded diaphragm to get a much larger tweeter in a smaller area. The tweeter's diaphragm is immersed in a powerful magnetic field to give it lightning-quick response times. It reproduces silky-smooth highs with minimal distortion and incredible detail.

Midrange frequencies are handled by a 4" driver, while the low-end is dealt out by twin 5" woofers. These drivers use Wharfedale's unique woven glass-fiber matrix diaphragm. The material is both lightweight and stiff, giving the drivers lifelike attack and decay. The midrange and woofer are each seated in a die-cast aluminum chassis and feature a low-distortion motor structure.

Perfectly matched crossovers
Great drivers need great crossovers to sound their best. Wharfedale spent hundreds of hours fine-tuning the crossover in the AURA 3s, using both advanced analysis and careful listening. As a result, these crossover networks ensure that the woofers, midrange, and tweeter each play exactly the frequencies they were designed for, while keeping the transition between the drivers seamless. The tweeter/midrange crossover circuit is laid out on its own board, separated from the woofer's crossover circuit. That helps to keep interference and crosstalk out of the equation.

An eye-catching cabinet built for clear sound
The AURA 3s are beautiful to look at, but behind that beauty lies a lot of purpose and forethought. Each cabinet is crafted with multiple layers of different woods which reduces troublesome panel resonances to near-silence. The lack of sharp angles helps disperse sound while eliminating baffle reflections.

Wharfedale's patented SLPP (Slot Loaded Profiled Port) enhances the speakers' bass output. The downward-firing ports direct airflow from the cabinets down through a series of slot ports in each speaker's plinth to equalize the air pressure in the room and inside the cabinet. What that means in plain terms is reduced turbulence (or "chuffing") and increased efficiency.
